We spent the weekend in Niagara Falls for an impromtu much needed family vacation. It was the first time we had ventured out with Cohen to a "foreign" city, and the first time he had ever stayed in a hotel. Despite the scorching temperatures (it was 34 degrees, but with the humidity it felt like 43) we had a wonderful time walking along the falls, and trying to stay hydrated.

It's March... Already March
So it appears that I have no problem starting a blog, I just have a little trouble updating it.
Life has been busy. I was telling a friend earlier this evening that it seems that I go to sleep and wake up with more things on my calendar than there were when I went to bed.
Cohen is growing in all respects, his height, his vocabulary, and his desire to "help" with everything from dishes, to cooking, to sweeping. He can follow simple commands, stack blocks 7 high, and mess up our TV so bad that for days we have the captions on.

Jersey Love

Even before Cohen was born we started to wonder how Jersey would take all the changes. We knew that there would no longer be as many trips to the Dog Park, or quick walks around the block when she was getting stir crazy - she quite simply wouldn't be getting as much attention. We started getting busier and busier, we spent long hours getting the house and nursery ready for Cohen's arrival, and sadly Jersey quickly faded into the background.
And then one day we found Jersey sleeping in the nursery right by the crib. And the next day there she was again, and the next, and the next. It's as if, just like us, she was anticipating this new arrival. She wasn't worried about the attention we could no longer offer her, she was anxiously awaiting her new best friend.
And that is just what they have become, best friends, partners in crime - ready to attack life's adventures together. It is Wes and I who have faded into the background, because when Jersey and Cohen are playing together, nothing else matters.

Is Forever Enough
Here is a slideshow of Cohen's first year. It is a tad long and I apologize for this. After taking 5,000 plus pictures in his first year, it was hard to edit.
Enjoy.
Enjoy.
Welcome
Surprise surprise, I have once again deleted my facebook. I was having a hard time keeping the people I wasn't interested in befriending off my account, so I decided the best option was to delete it all together. What I liked so much about facebook was the ability to keep in touch with people's lives, and share our recent mis-adventures with our friends and family.
So if you are interested in seeing what is going on with us Fernley's feel free to check out the blog. I can't promise it will be fascinating or even slightly interesting, but you will at least be able to see recent pictures of Cohen and be able to judge us about how we live our lives, (ie. having pizza 3x a week just because I love it.)
Thanks for visiting and happy judging!
